10/29/2018 0 Comments The Correlation Between Dr. Marbourg and Dr. No's Cell Phone Habits and Your PracticeDid you update your iPhone to iOS 12?
If you did, you have likely noticed that there is a new feature called Screen Time. (And if you are like most people, you have probably already checked to see if you can disable it!) Screen Time not only tells us how much time we are spending on our phones, but it also breaks it down to show us just how much time we are wasting. (Yes, you did spend 2.783 hours today on Instagram. Facebook? 1.3 hours...) A recent Rewire article titled, "Should Adults Have Screen Time Limits, Too?,"which dives into the subject of screen addiction, notes that "the average adult spends close to 11 hours looking at screen time and checks their phone every 10 minutes." 10/23/2018 0 Comments Staff Salary Survey Results are in!We are excited to share the results of our recent staff salary survey!
After receiving numerous questions from some of our referring doctors on staff pay, we sent out a five-question survey to gather as much information as possible. A total of 39 responses were received and the answers were sorted based on whether the OD's practice is located in a rural or suburban area. Click here to see the results for Rural Practices! Click here to see the results for Suburban Practices! (Clicking the links above will download the responses in a PDF.) We hope you find this information helpful to both you and your practice and would love to hear your thoughts on the results! If you have any potential ideas for future surveys, we would love to hear them! 10/16/2018 0 Comments November Photo of the MonthThis months photos are some great shots taken by our retinal photographer, Frank Brower. (Thanks, Frank!)
These images are of a recent patient referred for a retinal tear. The patient underwent successful laser demarcation in the office. 10/11/2018 0 Comments October Photo of the MonthMirror Image? The images below were taken of the right and left eye of two different patients. Identical Twins with RP.
Now waiting for results of genetic testing to evaluate candidacy for gene therapy with Luxturna. VisionAmerica's Physician Burnout Panel will be streaming live on Facebook next Tuesday, October 16th, at 6:30 p.m.!
The panel will be focused on how to combat the increasing demands facing doctors which result in higher levels of stress and, potentially, signs of burnout. What do you do when you begin experiencing high levels of stress? How do you handle it? What could you do differently that would alleviate some of the stress? To help us answer these questions, moderator Dr. Jim Marbourg will be joined by Dr. Karen Vanoy, Dr. Shelleigh Buckingham, Dr. Bruce Perry, and Dr. Rodney Landreth. We are thankful these four outstanding ODs have offered to share their experience with us. The video will be available for replay in the VisionAmerica Facebook Group, but we hope you join us live and ask the panel any questions you may have on the topic! If you won't be able to attend live and would like to have a particular question or topic addressed, please reply to this email and let us know! Also, if you have not joined the VisionAmerica OD Facebook Group, you will need to do so in order to view the live stream and the replay. |
